No-Fuss Pear Shortcakes

You can use fresh or canned pears in this delicious dessert, or you can change the fruit to peaches, strawberries or whatever strikes your fancy. Check the produce section for the dessert shells.

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients
1 16-ounce can sliced pears packed in juice, drained
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
4 prepared sponge cake shells
Thawed frozen nondairy whipped topping and sliced almonds, for garnish

Preparation
1. In a small bowl, combine the pears and almond extract. Cover and chill.

2. Spoon the pears into the shells. Garnish with the whipped topping and almonds, and serve.
